Well folks, I went into the hospital today and had a scope done. It was successful. What was done was simple for them, and actually not a big deal for me. Hate now to be put under but it is what it is to be healthy.
Arrived at 9:15, made it to the prep-room around 9:45 and waited till about 10:15 before they took me to the OR. I had to destress a little so I made all the staff laugh. It’s what I do. Anyhow, I was knocked out pretty fast and an hour later woke up in the prep-room.
Basically, they did an upper scope to see what the problem was. I had been having problems eating for several weeks but over the past 3-5 days it got worse. Everytime I ate, I threw up. This has caused me to lose more weight. Around 50 pounds all together. UGH. Once I was able to get on my feet and go, we left and I got home and slept for a few hours.
In the evening I finally was able to eat. I did throw up one time but the rest stayed down and I continued to eat more. Finally after nearly two weeks, I felt full. It was awesome. But not as I sit here, I am hungry again. It is a never ending process after this major of a surgery to remove the esophagus. I am feeling pretty good. I hope over the next few days I can gain a few pounds, and get to where I have some normal eating patterns, Crossing fingers.
Oh and they took I biopsy of the small intestine and they think it is just bacteria, but the test will prove that. I will know in a few days.
That’s it for this post.
