Yep, that day two weeks later when you have to go do a follow up and if your like me you don’t want to go. I had taken a shower like we all should do daily and when I do I get to irritate the feeding tube so I was already hurting. Then once I am with the doctor then she pulls the tube and man it hurts like hell! I was emotionally drained from getting up, forgetting to eat breakfast, all while being in pain and just not wanting to deal with the day ahead. I did make it and all was well even after I got home and slept for 3 hours.

After waking up from that nap I got a call from another surgeon that wants to consult with me about a future surgery after radiation and chemo treatments. At first since I let them leave me a VM, I said hell no I am not ready! After calming down I made the call to  make the appointment for this Friday. Not looking forward to it by any means but it has to be done.

A friend asked me today to share some good news, some bad news and some truth about my week. Took me a minute to respond for two of them.

  • The good: Got this website up and running, got a few new sponsors for Project RELO
  • The bad: Feeding tube hurts, sucked to have the Dr move it and inspect it. Phone call from surgeon for another surgery I am not wanting at this time.
  • The truth: Simple, I don’t want to deal with this cancer. I want it to be over and get busy in life doing other things.

The take away from this is, we can all deal with things bad or good. Take one step at a time and take a few deep breaths. Hard to do and easy to say after the fact. That’s where you come in, I told you and now it is up to on the result.
