Friday the 10th did not start out all that good.
First off, I got up early and was ready to go. A little anxious as this was my 4th day of radiation and another attempt at chemo since last Tuesday did not go well at all. Anyhow, I eat a lite breakfast and I head out. If you don’t know our driveway is 1/4 mile long and curvy and mostly down hill. Well, I came around the last corner and BOOM, ran into a snow bank and I was officially stuck. CRAP!
I went back up hill, got the snow shovel and tire tracks that were in the care but we recently had it cleaned and were removed of course and nope not put back in LOL Once I got what I needed I went back to the All Wheel drive care and proceeded to remove it. After 20 minutes of no luck and then realizing one tire was off the bank and suspended with snow under only. I was not going anywhere. I am in some good luck here as I know how to get my snowplow lady to come to the rescue (Thank you Cathy) And she did just that! and I was on my way!
So I am like 35 minutes behind time and I still have about an hour to get there. I am in Gaylord and the radiation is in Petsoky which is about 45-55 minutes away but in winter it is an hour and half due to snbow etc and the OMG friggen god slow ass drivers! And yet I am the one that got the car stuck in my drive way LOL!
As I proceed to my destination, what I see, SLOOOOOOOOWWWWW drivers. In fact because we have had a heat wave, you know like 10-15 degrees warmer, and people panic probably because of black ice. But honeslty we have not had much rain at all the ground is still warm and the concrete is somewhat dry. Anyhow, learn how to drive your car!
Eventually I get there! And only 15 minutes late! Great scotts, they are running 15 minutes behind. Seems like I have good luck!
Ok Ok Ok, now what’s going on with radiation and chemotherapy.
Radiation is fine and going really well. Spoke to the doctor and it is working and moving forward as they had hoped. So there’s that. Chemo, that’s another story, so since Tuesday medicine was rejected by my body and I went into panic, we are trying something else. This medicine is different and I should know have the effects. They were right. I spent a few hours more in chemo so they could watch me and all. I felt some tightness in my chest and shortness of breath but my oxygen was good at 94 though I would like it to be my normal 97-98 but I will take this. Blood pressure was good at one point 116/60.
So as I write this Saturday morning, Friday night I was tired and slept on the couch off and on watching TV till about 3am. Went to bed and slept for a few hours till now. As to how I feel this morning, simple, wide awake right now but fatigued and moving slow. Have a little cough and my throat is not becoming dry and irritated drinking and swallowing. Shall see how the day goes. but I am in good spirits and seem to be handling this really well . YEAH ME!
That’s it for now. See you nest on the next post
